The ALLS of Scripture

Women in ministry face quite a challenge, don't we? We work, we study, we love, we sacrifice, and sometimes we pour out so much to others that we come to a point where God says this to us: "I have this against you, that you have left your first love" (Revelation 2:4).

When that happens, I realize that I have to get down on my knees and get back to the basics. I have to forget about everything else and refocus on my love relationship with the King of the Universe.

Weapons or witness

There’s an interesting new book out titled “Women, God’s Secret Weapon.”  I think the author is trying to promote the value of women in ministry, but I am interested in his use of the word “weapon.”  In our media saturated world it is important to choose words that communicate clearly and it seems to me that too many in the church already view women in that particular way; dangerous, untamed, in need of control.

Now What? Then What?

I've been asking two questions of myself, and of other people, lately.

"Then what?"

"Now what?"

For me, these two questions get at the heart of ministry, evangelism, and growth in Christ. These questions push past the easy answers and reveal the processes that effect change, sanctify, and propel us towards a deeper love for, and faith in, God.

Why Tapestry?

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •

Tapestry began as women came together to discuss sharing ministry ideas and resources on the Internet, particularly through bible.org. We came to realize that it would be profitable to discuss these issues with women serving God in various ministries throughout the world.

Thus, the blog.
