I think we can close the book on Jesus Tomb, Phase 2. The Christian Post has published a discussion of the Jerusalem Conference as well as noting the Duke Statement. The article can be seen in full on our "News We're Watching Site". It is the second entry from the Christian Post there (Dated Jan 23.08). It is called simply "Jesus Tomb Case Closed for Most Scholars".
A student asked me if anything new came out of the conference. It looks like it was a thorough review of the state of the discussion but that nothing really new emerged from the discussion.
Gary Habermas has published a littel handbook size book called The Secret of the Talpiot Tomb: Unvravelling the Mystery of the Jesus Family Tomb. It is a nice summary of the discussion on Round one of this claim.
I know of two more substantive books on the way. One, Buried Hope or Risen Savior:The Search for the Jesus Tomb, is edited by Charles Quarles. I have contributed the final summary essay to it. It is just released.
