The Society of Biblical Literature (an organization to which all the PrimeTime Jesus bloggers belong, I believe) is beginning an educational website for lay people. The press notice reads as follows:

Hume, Tiger, and the Nature of Christianity
There is an imbroglio in the news and blogosphere over Brit Hume's recent plea to Tiger Woods to convert to Christianity to make it through this difficult time instead of relying upon Buddhism. (I am not certain of Tiger Wood's religion, but I think it is a matter of record that his mother is Buddhist, although I am not 100% certain of this.) Lots of blogs have lit up over this one. In today's issue of USA Today, Stephen Prothero adds his thoughts to the mix. What is very important to note is the overall conclusion of Prothero's post, namely, "there is more than one way to make yourself new." Prothero's essential thesis is that Buddhism is just as capable of restoring Tiger as Christianity is, on the assumed and unstated grounds that all religions are created equal.

Historical Jesus Five Views Jan 6
This is a short note to let you know of a book that shows the spectrum of Historical Jesus discussion. The title is The Historical Jesus Fives Views (IVP) edited by Jame Beilby and Paul Rhodes Eddy.

The Myth of Theological Liberalism
Just a quick note that should be of interest to bible.org's readers: a new blog post that I wrote is up at Parchment & Pen (http://www.reclaimingthemind.org/blog/2009/11/frustrations-from-the-fron...). It's called, "Frustrations from the Front: The Myth of Theological Liberalism."

Bart Ehrman: Without Peer… Review
Bart Ehrman has become the new media darling of the 21stcentury. He’s been on seemingly every major media outlet, from Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show to the Washington Post. Publisher’s Weekly ran an article not too long ago called “TheEhrman Effect,” showing that books by Ehrman as well as those stimulated by hiswritings (both pro and con) have captured a very large market.

We're Back: On Erhman, CNN and the Middle East

Via Dolorosa and Happy Easter
We have just posted a story on CNN about the route of Jesus from Pilate's tiral to the cross. It is a reminder of the key events that are a part of the reflection of the Easter season. So we wish all of you a Happy Resurrection Day weekend. As for the dispute over the proper route, this is one Easter Jesus report that may well be true. We just completed filming of an eight part TV series on Jesus for Day of Discovery (see www.dod.org for live streaming of these shows).
