In an important development for those of you interested in the original languages of the Bible, it is now possible to use original language texts of BHS (Hebrew Bible), NA27 (Greek NT), Rahlfs LXX (the OT in Greek), and the Vulgate (the Latin Bible) online free from the German Bibel Society’s new website, http://www.bibelwissenschaft.de/online-bibeln/
The text can be copied and pasted into a word processor for a limited amount of verses and is in Unicode, so you can switch to a different Unicode font after pasting into your word processor. I have tried this using Internet Explorer for the Greek, but found I could not copy and paste right-to-left in IE with the BHS Hebrew. However, using Firefox as the browser, I was able to copy and paste right-to-left with no problems.
The only drawback for English-speaking Bible students and users is that the site is in German, so it will take some trial and error to navigate around the site if you don't have a minimal knowledge of German. Registration is necessary to use the search features, but registration is free.
We congratulate and thank the editors and staff of German Bible Society (Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft) for this great contribution to biblical study and original languages study online.
