He has traveled and ministered extensively in Western Europe, especially in Germany and Italy. His wife is from Germany and he has close ties to the German Bible Society (Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft), including extensive work on a joint publication with GBS as editor of the New English Translation—Novum Testamentum Graece New Testament (2004). He has published a commentary on the letters of John, 1, 2, 3 John: Comfort and Counsel for a Church in Crisis (2003) and is currently working on a commentary on the Gospel of John. At Dallas Seminary Dr. Harris teaches classes in Greek grammar and syntax, exegetical method, the Gospel and Letters of John, and the use of computer tools and Internet resources for biblical study and exegesis. He has recently completed The Lexham Interlinear Greek New Testament for Logos Bible Software, a new enhanced interlinear NT and English translation. In addition, he has remained active in local church ministry. As an ordained minister he has served over the years as pastor of single adults, elder, and adult Sunday school teacher.
