Great post! Just a few days I came across this quote by Ken Vanhoozer "The Bible will only be heard as God's Word...if we are enabled to hear it as such by the Holy Spirit." Further, the understanding of the Word is not something separable from the application of it in action. Application completes understanding." That last sentence is so basic and deep at the same time. Could it be that no matter how right the hermeneutic, that the reader will never truly grasp the meaning without obedience?
