My last day at Bible.org is fast upon me and I definitely didn't want to leave without saying "goodbye Dear Friends". Over the past 5+ years I have served as Bible.org's Executive DIrector and it has truly been one of the highlights of my life and ministry. The Lord has called me on to a new journey of His choosing and I trust him completely.
As I reflect back on these past 5 years I think mostly of the impact Bible.org is having around the world through the sacrificial and eternally minded giving by our ministry partners. Bible.org would not exist if it were not for the pastors, professors, authors, and Bible teachers who freely give of themselves and their resources to post on Bible.org for global ministry use. I have established a close personal relationship with many of them and they have been a true joy and blessing to me and most certainly to many of you.
One of the greatest joys of my daily ministry has been the e-mails I have received from around the world from our users who testify to the personal impact Bible.org is having in their lives and in their ministries. You are the beneficiaries of the blessings God has provided through Bible.org and their ministry partners and many have shared the specific details of how this has affected you personally. You are missionaries, pastors, church leaders, Sunday School teachers, small group leaders, Bible teachers, and individuals seeking biblically sound teaching and a closer relationship with God. Your stories and testimonies motivated me regularly to press on even when it was not always easy.
I believe I have been blessed by this ministry more than I have blessed others...so Thank You. It is with both sadness and joy that I leave to a new place God has chosen. Isn't that how it is for most of us as we journey through this life as a faithful follower of Christ? We have real hurts, disappointments, and unfulfilled expectations...because we are human. However, we press on regardless of our circumstances because the One we serve is our Hope... in Him alone we place our trust. This is why I look forward to an uncertain future with hope and calmness because I konw that God is good, He loves me, and He alone is sovereign.
May the Lord bless each of you in 2009. My hope is that each of you will draw closer to Jesus and that He alone will be the source of your hope despite an uncertain future in a complex world.
These are my final thoughts from the Director's Chair
In Him Always
