As I said in my first Blog one of the things I would like to make more visible to our donors and our users, in general, is our development process and how new projects ideas are born and the approval process. Michael Garrett, a borg volunteer is working on documenting an open process whereby new project ideas or enhancements can be proposed and evaluated by our donors or staff for inclusion into our development plans. Bible.org is blessed to have many Biblical Scholars and partners who are writing new content for the site. This is in addition to the many volunteers and a creative technical team who are serving the community in our forums and working to make the NET Bible better known. (preview note:- Chris Goodman is working on a program to provide material for our friends and family to help you tell your friends about the NETBible and the site.) Our techies and other contributing members of the bible.org community are working to make the NETBible more readily available to other websites and users who are using popular social networking applications on the web like FaceBook.
Like Google, who has Google labs, we have started a bible.org labs where our techies are hosting widgets that people can use to view “verse of the day” and put the www.nextbible.org search and display the Bible features on their website or social site. Example, If you have a FaceBook account you can add the “verse of the day” application to your site. Preview note:Soon to be released is a bible verse tagger that takes advantage of the www.nextbible.org study tool to tag verses that people have on their sites. One finial comment for today on what's new and what's coming. Hampton, Mitch and Brian from our development team are busy updating our main site so it can readily show articles or posts that have been recently added. We will be adding a members area that will provide members opportunity to preview it and provide us feedback on its "ease of use" and to test the proposed prototype beta releases of the BORG site and its nextbible tools.
