Is Obama God's elected leader?

Today we wake up to a new America...to a new world, for better or worse. Nobody knows yet what the significance of an Obama presidency will mean, but there are things we can be certain about in uncertain times...God's sovereignty.

Above All Else

For the past two years I have been studying, reflecting and meditating on the supremacy of Christ, especially as found in Colossians 1:15-20. This passage has found a special place in my heart as I have spent the time to deeply ponder the significance of Christ's supremacy. This morning, my church moved into a beautiful new facility after 5 years of planning and preparation. Our pastor reminded us of the importance of making sure the main thing remains the main thing, i.e. that Jesus is more important than beautiful new church buildings and our wants, likes, and dislikes. He took us to this passage in Colossians to remind us that it is ALL about Him!

Resurrecting the Resurrection

Now that Easter has passed, has the resurrection of Jesus and the Easter message been tucked away neatly in a drawer until it is time to “resurrect” it again next year about this time? The Lord has laid the reality and the impact of His death, resurrection, and challenge to “follow me” ringing in my ears this year unlike any year before. What about you, has the Easter story already faded away in just two short days, or may it be ringing true for you as well. Let’s talk about it…

Taking up the Cross (Luke 9:23-26) by Brian Gross

I am very motivated today to share with you what I learned from my time in the Word this morning and to introduce you to a close friend. I apologize for the delay in posting my blog...way too many responsibilities and demands here at bible.org as the Executive Director. Seriously, I have absolutely no complaints, just zillions of e-mails to answer!

An Amazing Thought About the Spiritual and the Physical

I was blown away this morning in my quiet time with the Lord and decided to share my thoughts here in my blog. In fact, my blog's tagline "...thoughts about life and ministry" was chosen specifically so I could write about personal thoughts and not just about the ministry of bible.org specifically. There is a huge risk in the Internet world of exposing your inner thoughts that once revealed can never be taken back, but then, what is the meaning of our faith in Christ and our unity as the global church if not to be vulnerable and real with one another as we journey through this life together? So, here goes...

Who is Bible.org - Getting to Know the Staff... Hamp is the Man!

The first thing I need to address on the topic of getting to know the bible.org staff is how we actually define “staff”. I love to talk about this subject because the human interest side of bible.org is one of the great things that make this ministry so special, i.e. the people here are special.

Who is Bible.org - How is it Funded?

Tagged:  •    •    •

Many have asked, "How is the ministry of bible.org (BSF) financially funded"? There are 4 primary sources of funds that make the ministry possible: Profits from the Press, donations, volunteerism, and most recently online advertising. Not a single executive of the bible.org ministry takes any income or salaries from the Foundation. That way, we can insure that our donors’ contributions and income are going as directly as possible to those who we are ministering to every day. Most of the salaries in support of bible.org are carried by the Press and not the Foundation, again to keep Foundation money highly ministry focused. We feel this is the best way to model biblical “tent-making” where those who are serving are helping to carry their own financial needs through their labor that produces profits.
