This week I am devoting my time to finishing work on my dissertation for publication. A publisher had accepted it pending various revisions in 2006. So now I am in the home stretch and hope to ship it off to them by the end of this week.
It has been a rather arduous process, as you can imagine, primarily because once I started teaching full time I did not have the time to work on it as I did during my doctoral program. Finding time to research is always a challenge, and when family and church responsibilities also come alongside it can be very daunting to carve out time to work uninterrupted. Needless to say, the Lord has been gracious in helping me get the time I need.
I am confident that the revisions will meet with the publisher's approval, so hopefully soon I will be able to return with good news about its publication.
Dr. Michael Burer is Assistant Professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. He is the assistant project director for the NET Bible and has contributed various studies to the bible.org site. His first book - A New Reader's Lexicon of the Greek New Testament, co-authored with Jeff Miller - was published Fall of 2008.
