Hi Dr. Burer,
Long time no see! I just stumbled upon the Shack panel discussion you were involved in and wanted to commend you on your involvement. I finished the book over Christmas and I really valued your comments, especially your fairness. It upsets me when Christians come down and speak out against books like this from the pulpit. The pulpit is not a place to preach book reviews but to proclaim Jesus crucified and risen, and to explain the hope we have in Him. I enjoyed the book and was aware of some theological problems in it but many that were mentioned among you three on the panel I had not considered. Thanks.
We're doing well here in Ireland. Our little church plant has moved out of our house now into the local hotel meeting room and we are seeing new faces regularly. June's just recovering from the flu and our two kids, Saoirse and Mark are flying around much like your own kids I imagine.
Good to see your face and hear your voice again. Keep up the good work, and maybe we'll see you on this green sod some time in the future.
