So as I sit in my office waiting for what will happen next as Congress votes on what many people know is some of the most impactful legislation in our lifetime. I am not so focused on how we got to where we are in the States as to how we get out of here. A long hard slog is ahead. So I sit and wait, but for whom?

Cnn.com has broken a story on the Evangelical Manifesto, a statement made by a host of evangelical leaders about the evangelical faith of the last several decades.

Keep you eye out for this when it releases in detail Wednesday. I will have more to say about it then.

Jesus, Under 30s and the Church Feb 18 08

As I leave for a week of ministry including a lectureship in Atlanta, Ga., I came across an interesting analysis of under 30s that fits what I see when I am on the road (and that is about half the weekends fo the year). On Crosswalk.com, C. Michael Craven has discussed the current cultural "branding" of Christianity that leaves many younger evangelicals uncomfortable.

A New York Times Editorial Sympathetic to Evangelicals Feb 3 08

Nicholas Kristof is not an evengelical by his own admission, but he is concerned about issues of human rights around the world. Kristof is an editorial writer for the New York Times. He recently worte an editorial about how evengelicals are addressed in the public square and suggests that they may not be appreciated for what they are doing around the world.
