Randy Ingermanson wrote me today with his latest statistical study on the Jesus Tomb. It has been made because all the statistical work has been redone recently, including work by the original statistician, Andrey Feuerverger, in the periodical The Annals of Applied Statistics (Volume 2, Number 1, Publication Date: March 2008; see this link). Jim Tabor, the historical consultant on the Tomb special, emailed me last night on the same issue. The recent issue in Annals has looked at this in detail. See Randy's summary at:

He now argues that this tomb has a 2% chance of belonging to Jesus' family and that the statisitics of Feuerverger are still not accepted by any of the other statisticians because he accepts as a given the assumptions of Jacobovici, which most people reject.
