With thanks to my colleague, Michael Burer, I note a story that France's President wants to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive by having each French child learn the story of one of 11,000 French Jewish children killed by the Nazis. His explanation is that they need to understand what the "absence of God" has done in the last century. Those who praise the total separation of church and state in France have reacted. Stay tuned.
