Dr. Bock has written opinion page or expertise pieces for the ABC News.com, Beliefnet.com, Christianity Today.com, Bibleinterp.com, Dallas Morning News, Los Angeles Times and Kansas City Star, and is a frequent guest on interview shows and has offered theological background information for numerous publications and TV shows, including an ABC News Prime Time specials on the Da Vinci Code and on Mel Gibson's The Passion, NBC Today Show, NBC Nightly News, and Dateline, ABC Good Morning America, 20/20, CNN, Anderson Cooper 360, The O’Reilly Factor, Mad Money, Scarborough Country, CNN Daytime, Ted Koppel’s Special on the Jesus Tomb: A Critical Look, as well as on NPR News and news talk shows hosted by Richard Land, Janet Parshall, the BBC, and the Australian Broadcasting Company. His book, Breaking the Da Vinci Code made the New York Times Best Seller List in non-fiction in 2004 and was nominated for both the Gold Medallion Award in cultural engagement and was a Retailers’ Choice Winner in non-fiction for 2005 at the Christian Booksellers Association. He was recently featured on a segment on ABC Nightline. Topics of his media work have ranged from defining who evangelicals are for the media, to questions surrounding Jesus studies and the gospels, to issues tied to eschatology, the Middle East and Israel, to how Christianity relates to other world religions (especially Judaism and Islam), Christian views of war, issues tied to European’s reaction to US politics and religious views, and how Christianity and culture interact. He was a resource figure on the movie the Passion and has done consultation work with the Discovery Channel on various projects.
