The author/producer of this documentary and book are getting a great deal of heat. It goes without saying that a large reason for the documentary was to make money. No question it will do that. But, regardless of their methods, whether true scientific method was employed, proper control groups established, etc., it is still compelling. If the Beatles dissappeared 25 years ago in a plane crash over middle america and last week someone discovered a makeshift tomb with evidence of bodies inside, three of the four being John, Paul and George, would it not raise a pretty high probability that it COULD be the Beatles despite the fact that John, Paul and George are three of the most common names in america? The question shouldn't be whether Simcha's documentary is the final word on this issue. It should be the beginning. More tests should be done, more scholars SHOULD weigh in. Instead of completely dismissing the documentary and it's findings, why not go deeper? I hope scholars and scientists and theologians do just that! Feel free to email opinions and reactions. I'd love to discuss further.
